More comfort and security for your home

Whether it’s cozy lighting, a warm apartment upon arrival, or a sense of security – modern smart home technology gives you a better quality of life and saves valuable time. As there are constantly new systems, OmniAtelier helps you find the perfect solution. Our Configurator shows you the best systems for Switzerland, so your home works just the way you want it.

Three simple rules for your perfect smart home:

  • Worry-free through data protection: Your privacy is valuable. By choosing companies from Switzerland or the EU, your data stays safe and protected.

  • Stable technology without stress: The new Matter protocol promises to connect everything soon. However, currently, it is safer to keep the number of systems small to ensure everything runs truly stable. It’s best to use only 2 or 3 specialized systems. For example, one for home control (heating, shutters), one for lighting, and one for the alarm. This way, you prevent technology frustration and your home runs smoothly and without errors.

  • Start relaxed: Make it easy for yourself at the beginning. With apps like Apple Home, Google Home, or Alexa, you control everything conveniently by voice or smartphone. Those who want more later can switch to professional systems like HomeAssistant at any time.

Ecosysteme

The Swiss smart home market is diverse and offers solutions for every living situation – from the industrial standard for homeowners to flexible "plug-and-play" systems for rental apartments.

Professional Class (Owners & New Construction)

Fixed, durable systems for maximum reliability and value increase of the property.

  • Systems: KNX, Loxone, DigitalSTROM, eSMART.

  • Price: High (from CHF 10,000). Planning and installation must be done by professionals.

Mid-range (Retrofit & Comfort)

Stable solutions with high-quality hardware that can be retrofitted without new cabling.

  • Systems: Bosch, Homematic IP, Fibaro.

  • Price: Medium (CHF 3,000 – 7,000). Generally fits into existing Swiss wall sockets via an adapter.

Lifestyle & DIY (Renters & Beginners)

Affordable and flexible wireless solutions that can be easily taken along when moving.

  • Systems: Shelly, Aqara, Sonoff.

  • Price: Entry (CHF 800 – 2'500). Ideal for lighting and security as well as for self-installation.

The following overview excludes professional systems (KNX, Loxone, etc.) as they require specialized planning and are significantly more expensive. These systems generally cover all functions. The estimates for the professional class: KNX: CHF 20k+, Loxone: CHF 15k+, DigitalSTROM: CHF 12k+, eSMART: CHF 8k+.

Hardware Price

The estimated hardware prices for a 100 square meter apartment (typically a 3.5 to 4.5 room apartment) are based on a "standard complete setup".

  • Lighting Control: ~10 to 15 zones (relays behind switches or smart light bulbs).

  • Shutters & Awnings: ~5 to 8 motorized window/door units.

  • Heating: ~4 to 6 wall thermostats or radiator valves (one per room/zone).

  • Security: 2 smoke detectors and 1 water sensor (usually for washing machine/kitchen).

  • Access: 1 smart door lock (Nuki/Aqara/Yale).

  • The Hub: 1 central controller or a bridge to manage the system.

Technical Check

  • Relay (Flush-mounted): Module behind existing switches (Feller/ABB). The Swiss look is preserved.

  • Adapter (55mm to 60mm): 55mm standard devices (e.g. from Bosch, Homematic IP, Fibaro) require an adapter frame (e.g. Feller 920-4872) to fit flush in Swiss 60mm boxes.

  • Wall Thermostat: Absolutely required for controlling Swiss underfloor heating (wired Relay).

  • Door Locks: Aqara U200 & Nuki (CH) fit natively on Swiss 22mm round cylinders and support Apple Home Key.

  • Cameras (Native/Option): Own hardware vs. integration of third-party vendors (e.g. Reolink/Axis).

  • Voice Control: Alexa, Google, Apple Home. (Bridge) = Hub required for cloud connection.

Lighting

Whether it’s a new build, renovation, or rental apartment: The Swiss lighting market offers the right solution for every project – from professional standards to flexible retrofitting.

The Gold Standard: Philips Hue

The most versatile system with the largest selection of lights and the deepest integration in Switzerland.

  • Target Group: Aesthetes and garden owners looking for a "worry-free solution."

  • Partner Network: "Friends of Hue" (Feller, Somfy, ABB, Spotify).

The Mid-range (Ambience & Entertainment)

Focus on creative lighting effects, gaming sync, and strong app features at a fair price.

  • Systems: Govee, Nanoleaf.

The best value for money: WiZ & IKEA Home Smart

Simple systems for everyday use that do not require expensive control cables.

  • Target group: Tenants and budget-conscious beginners.

  • Partner network: Google, Alexa, Matter (WiZ) / Sonos (IKEA).

Technical Check.

  • Sun Path: Automatic color adjustment (Blue to Amber) follows the daylight rhythm.

  • Offline Operation: Operates locally via Mesh (Zigbee/Thread) even without an internet connection.

  • All System: Offers complete design lights; others usually only sell bulbs.

  • Bathroom (IP44): Splash protection; legal requirement for Swiss bathroom zone 2.

  • Estimate: Hardware costs for a 100 square meter apartment (approx. 3.5 - 4.5 rooms).

The Swiss market for security technology offers solutions for every need – from certified industrial systems for the highest demands to smart all-in-one cameras for rental apartments.
